Arts Council 10 and growing: On April 8, 1968, the Decatur Area Arts Council (DAAC)

came into being. At age 10, it may still be considered a child, but a very precocious one. At that first meeting held in the office of attorney Emanual Rosenberg, Howard Brown, superintendent of the educational service region, was elected president. The first board of directors included Diane Carlson, Margaret Fassnacht, Louise Fathauer, Elinor Gage, Orv Graham, Ronald Gregory, Barbara Hostetler, Marvin Klaven, Edward Lindsay, Ann Seidman, Frances Wilson, Rosenberg and Brown.
