DECATUR Millikin grad to speak at all-day writer's fair Millikin University graduate Ellen Wittlinger is the keynote speaker at the 2003 Decatur Area Writers Fair. The free all-day festival performance on Saturday. The production is directed by Denise Myers, Millikin associate professor of theater.

The cast includes: Phil Sikes, a freshman from Lake Zurich, as Roy; Mary Kalita, a junior from North Aurora, as Catherine; Jeff Farber, a sophomore from Indianapolis, as Hal; and Rachel Boiler, a junior from Bartlett, as Claire. "Proof," written by David Auburn, won the 2001 Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award for Best Play. Tickets are $5 and $3 and available at the Kirkland Fine Arts Center box office or by Gall students now through Sunday, Nov. 2. The second Peoria Civic Cen- DECATUR Gallery 510 to get operating support grant 510 will receive an operating support grant from the Illinois Arts Council. This grant will partially support Gallery 510's general operating budget. The funds will be used for the monthly changing exhibits at Gallery 510 that include national juried shows, Fiber Arts 2003 and Winter Thaw 2004, as well as the annual Young Artists' Showcase in January. Gallery 510 is accepting artwork from fifth- to eighth-grade beginning tonight.

Performances are 8 p.m. today, Saturday and Thursday through Saturday, Oct. 23-25, with 2 p.m. shows on Sunday, Oct. 19 and 26.

DECATUR jazz benefit for Masonic Temple set Blaxtarr's Music Extravaganza puts on a benefit show at 8 p.m. Saturday in the Masonic Temple. The rhythm-and-blues and jazz show is a benefit for the Masonic Temple renovation and the Decatur and Mid Illinois United Way.
