Memorials: Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Walker Walker DECATUR Charles David "Charlie" Walker, 44, of Decatur died 2:11 a.m. Wednesday (March 7, 2001) in his home. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in J.J.

Walker was born Oct. 7, 1956, in Decatur, the son of Charles and Lucille E. Cole Walker. He was a supervisor for ADM and an avid NASCAR and Dale Earnhardt fan. He married Linda White Dec.

6, 1996. Surviving are his wife, Linda; parents, Charles and Lucille Walker of Decatur; stepson, Shannon Allen and wife Christina of Decatur; stepgrandchildren, Miranda and Britney of Decatur; brothers, Roger Walker and wife Sandi of Tennessee; John Walker of Decatur; Robert Walker of El Paso, William Walker and wife Cindy of Tennessee; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother. OBITUARIES DECATUR A. Parry, 81, of Decatur, a loving husband and father, died 6:15 p.m.

Tuesday (March 6, 2001) in Decatur Memorial Hospital. Memorial services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Blue Chapel at Westminster Presbyterian Church. A family burial will take place before the services at Boiling Springs Cemetery. Brintlinger's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church or Decatur Memorial Foundation. Growing up an Iowa farm boy, he became the first in his family to attend college. After earning a degree in pharmacy from the University of Iowa and marrying his college sweetheart, he served his country in the Pacific during World War II. He was married for 59 years and had three children. Marvin and his family moved to Decatur in 1960 to open and manage the first Osco Drug store in Decatur.

He enjoyed the challenge of running the store and thrived on the opportunity to meet and help the people of Decatur. During those years, he was an elder for Westminster Presbyterian Church and a member of Rotary. After 25 years with Osco, Marv retired to Sarasota, where he was an avid golfer, until Parkinson's disease made that impossible. He moved back to Decatur in 1998 to be closer to his family. Marv is survived by his wife, Grace; son, Tom, a retired periodontist living in Albuquerque, N.M., who teaches at the University of New Mexico; daughters, Susan Parry, a pharmacist for Kroger in Decatur; Cindy Laegeler, the executive director of Partners in Education who is involved in many other community activities; six grandchildren, Andy Laegeler, Rob Laegeler, Kate Kim Gordon, T.J.

Gordon and Cameron Parry. We will all dearly miss him the sparkle in his eyes and his words of advice but we will always have his memory and the example he set for living a full, caring, compassionate and productive life. Parry Smith OREANA Louise Smith, 70, of Oreana died 2:38 p.m. Monday (March 5, 2001) in Smith Decatur Memorial Hospital. Services will be 11 a.m.

Saturday in lawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour before serLouise Smith vices. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Woodland Chapel Presbyterian Church or Decatur Memorial Hospital Primetime. Mrs.

Smith was born March 22, 1930, in Hardinsburg, the daughter of Willie Lula Horsley Nash. She was a homemaker, a member of Woodland Chapel Presbyterian Church and a life member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She married Billy Roy Smith June 3, 1950, in Decatur. He preceded her in death Dec. 18, 1998.

Surviving are her son, Michael Roy Smith of Normal; daughter, Mrs. Fred Allen (Melody) Bateman of Olney, grandsons, Mark William Bateman and Alan Michael Bateman of Olney, sister, Cora Hahn and husband Edward; brother, Raymond Nash and wife Patricia of Decatur. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed. Welch DECATUR Billy W.

Welch, 73, Decatur, died Monday (March 5, 2001). Services: 11 a.m. Friday, Brintlinger's Funeral Home. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.

Cunningham TUSCOLA Dr. John Newport Cunningham, 82, of Tus- cola died 2 (March 7, Dr. John Cunningham p.m. Wednesday 2001) in his home. Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 10 a.m.

Saturday in Forty Martyrs Catholic Church, Tuscola, with the Rev. Allen Kemme officiating. Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, Tuscola, with 8 p.m.

vigil services. Burial will be in Arcola Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the Cunningham Endowment Fund at Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine, Development Office, 800 W. Jefferson, Kirksville, MO 63501. This fund was established upon the death of his father, Dr.

C.J. Cunningham, who practiced for 68 years in Villa Grove. The funds are distributed through the endowment to students who will eventually practice osteopathic medicine in a small town or rural setting. Additional contributions can 1 also be made to Forty Martyrs Carillon Bell Fund, 201 E. Van Allen, Tuscola, IL 61953.

Dr. Cunningham was born July 18, 1918, in Villa Grove, the son of Dr. Charles John and Nell Newport Cunningham. He graduated from Villa Grove High School, where he played football. He attended the University of Illinois and graduated from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1942.

He served in World War II from 1942 to 1945 in the South Pacific with the First Marine Division-Seventh Marines. He was a member of Forty Martyrs Catholic Church in Tuscola. Dr. Cunningham was an osteopathic physician and surgeon in Villa Grove from 1946 to 1947 and in Tuscola from 1947 until 1997 and was president of Douglas County Tuberculosis Board and Public Health Board. He was attending staff physician at Cole, Burnham and Mercy hospitals.

He also served as chief of staff at Jarman and Cole hospitals. Dr. Cunningham was president of the Illinois Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons and was selected Practitioner of the Year in 1973. He received the Distinguished Alumni Award and Lifetime Achievement Award from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine, Fellow Award of American College of General Practitioners and Illinois State Medical Society 50- Year Club. He was a Rotary International Paul Harris Fellow and Preceptor in Family Practice at both Kirksville and Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Dr. Cunningham was a member of American Osteopathic Association, Illinois Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons, American College of General Practitioners of Osteopathy and Surgery, American Medical Association and Illinois Medical Society. He married Betty Jane Hunt July 6, 1946, in Tuscola. She survives. Also surviving are his sons, Dr.

William Cunningham and Dr. Daniel Cunningham, both of East Grand Rapids, Michael Cunningham of Chicago; John Cunningham of Sparta, Jeffrey Cunningham of Urbana; daughters, JoEllen Monahan of Arcola; Susan Slagle of Itasca; Theresa Meyer of Glen Ellyn; 20 grandchildren; brother, James R. Cunningham of Peoria; sister, Carolyn MacDonald of Tuscola. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. His father, two brothers and two sons were all osteopaths.

Garver Maurice Garver DECATUR Maurice Dale Garver, 79, of Decatur died 9:15 p.m. Saturday (March 3, 2001) in Fair Havens Christian Home. Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in lawn Funeral Home. Private burial Maurice Garver will be in Graceland Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Hospice or Fair Havens Christian Home. Mr. Garver was born Dec. 20, 1921, in Decatur, the son of Bert and Clara Hensen Garver. He retired from Caterpillar Inc.

in 1982. Mr. Garver married Marjorie Waddell Dec. 21, 1947. She preceded him in death Feb.

1, 1992. Surviving are his son, Terry D. Garver and wife Diana of Decatur; grandchildren, Kristen and Garrett Garver; brother, George Williams and wife Helen of Decatur; sisters, Faye Shinn of Fort Dodge, Iowa; Marjorie Ellison of Decatur; sisters-in-law, Merilynn Walters and Betty Buckley of Decatur; special friend, Helen Goldman. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and wife. Lynch DECATUR Melissa Lynch, 35, Orlando, formerly of Decatur, died Wednesday, Feb.

28, 2001, in Melissa Lynch her home after a long illness. Mrs. Lynch was born in Decatur and graduated from East Park Baptist Academy in Melissa Lynch 1984. She and her family lived in Columbus, until 1994 and in Madison, from 1994 until December 1999, when they moved to Orlando. She was a homemaker and worked parttime at Disney MGM Studios in Orlando.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Orlando. She married Adam Lynch of Ottawa, on July 4, 1986, in East Park Baptist Church, Decatur. He survives. Also surviving are her daughter, Darian of Orlando; mother, Sherry Patrick of Orlando; father, Carl Patrick and wife Joyce Governor Patrick of Decatur; sister, Amanda Bowling and husband Doug of Mount Zion; brother, Chad Patrick and wife Dawn Ferguson Patrick of Orlando; two nieces; one nephew; two stepsisters; and one stepbrother. Melissa was laid to rest at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Orlando.

Memorial services were held at First Baptist Church of Orlando. Memorials for Melissa will got to further Darian's education. Memorials should be made to Darian Lynch, Citrus Bank, 12200 W. Colonial Drive, Suite 101, Winter Garden, FL 34787. Ording DECATUR Paul George Ording, 59, of Decatur died 9:45 a.m.

Monday (March 5, 2001) in his home. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Zion Cemetery, Lincoln, with Tom Gerdts officiating. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association.

Paul was born July 18, 1941, in Appleton, the son of Merle Ording and Virginia Schlingerman. He was an accountant at ADM in Decatur. He was of the Catholic faith and was a member of Knights of Columbus in Lincoln. He married Terri Pulaski Ording on March 12, 1971, in Bloomington. Surviving are his wife, Terri of Decatur; daughter, Andrea Bartlett of Normal; son, Paul G.

Ording II of Little Rock, mother, Virginia of Lincoln. He was preceded in death by his father and brother, Harold Ording. MASON Gary J. Blackwell, 53, Mason, salesman, died Wednesday (March 7, 2001). Services: 10:30 a.m.
