and Anna L. Aden Burg. He was a retired foreman for Wagner Castings Co. He was a member of Scottish Rite Valley of Springfield, Ansar Shrine of Springfield, Decatur Shrine Club, Masonic Lodge 8, American Legion Post 105 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 99. Mr.

Burg was a World War II veteran. He married Shirley J. Westbrook on Nov. 29, 1941, in OldMonroe, Mo. Surviving are his wife; son, Tom Burg and wife Carol of St.

Peters, daughter, Carol and husband Delmar Deardorff of Decatur; grandchildren, Angel Lillpop and husband Matt of Rock Falls; Trina Deardorff and fiance Jeff Weber of Denver, Jason and Jennifer Burg of St. Peters, brother, Bob Burg and wife Doll of LaPorte, Texas; sister, Joan Raber and husband Chuck of Tulsa, Okla. She married Paul Jackson on Oct. 15, 1938. "Dottie" Lange, 81, of Decatur died 4:10 a.m. Monday (Jan. 3, 2000) in her residence. Private services will be Wednesday at Brintlinger's Funeral Home. There will be no visitation.

Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery, Decatur. Mrs. Lange was born in Decatur, the daughter of Henry Anna Damm Brinkoetter. She was a Mary Lange member of St. John's Lutheran Church.

Prior to her retirement, she worked in Medical Records at St. Mary's Hospital and was a member of the Moose Lodge. She married Eugene Bundy in 1938. He preceded her in death. She married Henry Lange in 1977.

He preceded her in death on March 19, 1995. Surviving are her daughter, Judy Reynolds and husband Lyle of Decatur; grandchildren, Kevin Reynolds and wife Sharon of Decatur; Christina Reynolds of Decatur and Christopher Reynolds of Decatur; greatgrandchildren, Michael Reynolds, Laura Reynolds and Ashley Reynolds. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Shrader Funeral Home, 431 South Vine Arthur, with the Rev. James C. Elder officiating. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m.' Tuesday with masonic rites at 7:30 p.m.

He served his country in the Army and he was a member of the Arthur United Methodist Church and a 30-year member of the Atwood Masonic Lodge 650. He worked for the State of Illinois Highway Maintenance Department. He previously owned and operated the Marathon Station in Atwood. He was the former owner of the and I Tavern and the Captain's Quarters, both in Arthur. He and his wife owned and operated the and I Restaurant in Arthur.

He married Irene Taylor on Dec. 18, 1964, in Atwood. Surviving are his wife of 35 years; brother, John Wiekert of Tuscola; two sisters, Hazel McDaniel of Virginia and Buelah McMillin of Du Quoin; brother-in-law, Eugene Taylor of Atwood; two sister-in-laws, Nadine Taylor and Linda Barnett, both of Atwood; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his three sisters, Gladys Busch, Lydia Dowell and Mary Ann Price. Herschberger ARTHUR Esther Herschberger, 89, Arthur, homemaker, died Sunday (Jan.

Thursday in Schilling Funeral Home, Mattoon, with the Rev. Robert C. Clark officiating. Visitation will be one hour before services. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens, Mattoon.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association in care of Schilling Funeral Home. Leland was born in Toledo on Aug, 6, 1921, the son of William and Lillian Evans Ariens. Mr. Ariens was a U.S. Navy World War II veteran.

He retired as a truck driver after 30 years of service for Transfer and TMX. He was a member of the Teamsters. He married Norma Titus on Nov. 9, 1945. Surviving are his wife, Norma Ariens of Decatur; one son, Dennis of Detroit, one sister, Lois Spoon and husband Leo of Oklahoma City, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Evelyn Henry. Baker DECATUR Charles W. Baker, 75, of Decatur died 11:08 p.m. Sunday (Jan. 2, 2000) in St.

Mary's Hospital. Services will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Brintlinger's Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, with masonic rites at 8:00 p.m., where friends are encouraged to attend.

Burial will be in Ritchie Cemetery, Oakley, with military rites. Memorials: Shriner's Children's Hospital. Mr. Baker was born in Decatur, the son of Charles E. and Agnes (Ritchie) Baker.

Mr. Baker was a member of the Ionic Lodge 312 AF AM for 48 years and a member of the Springfield Consistory, Ansar Shrine and American Legion Post 105. He served in the Americal Division of the U.S. Army in the South Pacific during World War II. Mr.

Baker was a member of the IBEW 146 in Decatur for 50 years, retiring in 1987. He married Mary M. Stolley on July 21, 1949, in Stewardson. Surviving are his wife, sister, Nancy Fansler and husband Clyde of Cerro Gordo; 8 nieces and nephews; 11 great-nieces and nephews and one great-great-nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Walter and Curtis.

Brown DECATUR Doris Brown, 73, of Decatur died 9:05 p.m. Sunday (Jan. 2, 2000) in Decatur Memorial Hospital. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in J.J.

Doris was born in Harrisburg on Dec. 10, 1926, the daughter of Gale and Edna (Barker) Nees. She was a self-employed beautician for 40 years. She was a ber of Maranatha Assembly of God Church. Surviving are her sons, Larry Greenwell and wife Grace of Fort Wayne, Dan Greenwell and wife Carolyn of Niantic; Stephen Walcher and wife Gloria of Decatur; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Memorials: St. John Lutheran Church. Mr. Pfeiffer was born in Shelbyville on Oct. 28, 1933, the son of Walter Julius and Ruth Harriet Pea Pfeiffer.

He was a graduate of Shelbyville High School, Class of 1951, a U.S. Army veteran and a member of St. John Lutheran Church. He retired from Caterpillar in 1992. He married Shirley Pierce Leigh on May 24, 1975.

Surviving are his wife; sons, Robert Allen Pfeiffer and wife Kara of Shelbyville; Terry Lynn Pfeiffer of Decatur; stepson, Brain Keith Leigh of Shelbyville; daughters, Cheri Lee Pfeiffer of Shelbyville; Brenda Sue Pfeiffer of Bartlett; stepdaughter, Cheryl Faulkner and husband Ron of Shelbyville; sister, Norma Marie Thomas of Shelbyville; seven grandchildren and five greatgrandchildren.
