Nine former Millikin athletes have managed to join the pro football ranks down through the years, but Query became the first to be selected by the draft method.

Even Jim Perryman, the most recent Millikin athlete to play pro football, wasn't drafted despite possessing above-average speed and an outstanding record as a defensive back. Perryman was first signed by the Buffalo Bills of the NFL in 1985 after being invited to a free agent try out camp. He was invited to try out after playing with the Pittsburgh Maulers of the now-defunct United States Football League. After playing for Buffalo two seasons, Perryman was traded to the Indianapolis Colts, where he played two seasons and part of another. He was released by the Colts after injuring his knee early last season.

A 1983 Millikin graduate, Perryman was named the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin's most valuable defensive player as it yif Pi Maturity Rate 6 Mos. 9.75 1 Yr. 9.80 Vz Yr. 9.50 3 Yr. 9.45 'Thew annual ram ol return are effective Alt CD's snoon are insured up to StOO.000 per depositor per inttitunon by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (TOtCt or r-ederal Savings and Loan Insurance Corporation (FSUC).

By making the team, Corbett paved the way for Musso. He played for the Bears seven seasons. The other Millikin athletes to play professionally were members of the Staley team that was the forerunner of today's Bears. All are school records. Of Millikin's nine previous pro football players, George Musso and Virgil Wagner enjoyed the most distinguished careers. Inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1982, Musso played 12 seasons with the Chicago Bears from 1933 to 1944, earning all-NFL honors at tackle and guard. He was the first player to be all-pro at two positions. Musso was captain of the Bears for nine years when the team had some of its most successful seasons and became known as the "Monsters of the Midway."
