Shipley Mrs. Robert (Alice Stanford) Shipley, 66, of Flora died 6 a.m. Tuesday (Oct 23. 1979) in her home. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m.

Friday in Cardascio Funeral Home, Flora, with visitation 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Floral Garden of Memories, north of flora. Mrs. Shipley was born In Stanford Township, Gay County, daughter of William and Lucy M.

Stanford. She was a member of First Christian Church. Flora. She married Robert Shipley in 1934. He died in 1972.

Surviving are sons, Robert E. of Flora; Gerald Lee of Howell. brother, William B. Stanford of Lock-port; sisters, Mary Porter of Cocoa Beach. Ruth Anderson of Xenia; three grandchildren.

Two half brothers preceded her in death. Smith Phyllis Ann Roller Smith. 43, of Coral Gables, formerly of Newman, died 11 p.m. Monday (Oct 22. 1979) in Jackson Memorial Hospital, Miami, Fla.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday in Immanuel Lutheran Church. Broadland, with visitation after 1 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Joines Funeral Home, Newman, is in charge. Mrs. Smith was born in Tuscola, daughter of George P. and Rachel Peterson Roller. She was a member of St John's Lutheran Church.

Champaign. Valparaiso Guild, Delta Sigma Omicron and Rehabilitation Sorority of the University of Illinois. Surviving are sons. Carl, Jason, and Justin, all of Allerton; Stephen of Menard; Victor of Sidell; daughters, Margo Vendola of Valparaiso, Ind. Sara Smith of Allerton; mother of Coral Gables.

Helen Sulsberger and Glnny Rudy, all of Flora; stepdaughter, Barbara Packham of Ontario, Canada; brothers. Walter of Bend. F.L. of Woodsfield, Ohio; sisters. Marjorie Sig-ler of Louisville.

Ohio; Janet Kerr of Columbus. Ohio; 12 grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren. Two sisters preceded him In death. Wernsman Everett Wernsman. 73.

of rural Pa-toka died Monday morning (Oct 22, 1979) in his home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. "Wednesday in Cox Martin Funeral Home. Patoka. No visitation.

He was a retired farmer. He married Eleanor Johnson in 1929. Surviving are his wife; son. Earl of Raleigh. N.C.; dughters.

Iowa (AP) Folks in the town where Johnny Carson was born 54 years ago Tuesday say he doesn't visit anymore, but they don't seem to hold it against him. The host of NBC-TVs "Tonight Show." was born in Corning on Oct 23. 1925. the son of Homer and Ruth Hook Carson. His father managed the local utility company until the family left in the late 1920s to eventually settle in Norfolk.

Neb. Mabel Gaskill. 75. remembers that she used to car for Carson v. hen he was just 1 1 2 years old.

"Johnny was an awful cute little kid, I know that He never caused me any problems." she said. But. she adds, "I don't recall that he ever did anything funny." She married George Mann in 1919. Surviving are her husband; son, Harold C. of rural Mount Pulaski; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

One son, one sister and one great-great-grandchild preceded her In death. Martin Elon Martin, 68, of Lincoln died 4:55 a.m. Tuesday (Oct. 23, 1979) in Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital, Lincoln. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m.

Thursday in Holland Barry Funeral Home, Lincoln: with visitation 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, with 8:30 p.m. Masonic rites. Burial will be in Richmond Grove Cemetery, New Holland. Memorials: Diabetes Foundation or donor's choice.

He was born in DeWitt County, son of W.L. and Florence Martin. He was a retired farmer, elder and member of United Presbyterian Church, Lincoln Masonic Lodge 210, Lincoln York Rite Bodies and the Logan County Farm Bureau. He was the past commander of Constantine Commandry 51, past patron Order of Eastern Star Chapter 351. He married Virginia Niewold in 1935.

Surviving are his wife; daughter, Mary Lou Olsen of Morganton, N.C.; brothers, Carl of Elmhurst; Seth of Decatur; two grandchildren. One brother preceded him in death. Myers Ezra H. Myers. 96, of Edgewood died 10:01 p.m.

Monday (Oct. 22, 1979) in Douglas Manor Nursing Home, Tuscola. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Pagel Funeral Home, Edgewood, with visitation 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Burial will be in Edgewood Cemetery. He was born in Gila, son of William and Rosetta Myers. He was retired from the Illinois Central Gulf Railroad, a member of First Christian Church. Edgewood, and the Modern Woodmen of America. He married Cora Frazier in 1904.

She died in 1967. Surviving are sons, Rolla of Edge-wood; Donald of Garrett; daughters, Mrs. Delphus (Hazel) Rush of Dieter-ich; Mrs. Floyd (Ina) Mascher of Effingham; brothers, Raymond and Ar-nie, both of Corona, Calif. sisters.

Mrs. Clem (Gladys) Westjohn of Obetz, Ohio; 18 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren. Two sons and one daughter preceded him in death. Martinsville, with visitation after 4 p.m. Thursday.

Burial will be in Ridgelawn Cemetery, Martinsville. She was born in Martinsville, daughter of George and Berilda Rodgers. She was a member of Martinsville Baptist Church. She married James Cown In 1931. He died in 1971.

Surviving are brother, Merritt Rodgers of Martinsville; sister, Inez Rodgers of Martinsville; three step-grandchildren; eight great-step-grandchildren. Draper Mrs. Ezra (Phebe Waggoner) Draper, 63, of Xenia died 12:20 a.m. Tuesday (Oct. 23, 1979) in Clay County Hospital, Flora.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m." Thursday in Xenia United Methodist Church, with visitation 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at John T. Frank Funeral Home, Flora. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Xenia. Mrs.

Draper was born in Marion County, daughter of Ace and Nancy Ellen Waggoner. She married Ezra Draper. Surviving are her husband; son, Terry of Hillside, N.J. daughters, Mrs. Richard (Ruth) Duffini of Cisne; Mrs.

Richard (Linda) Sullivan of Livingston; Mrs. Orval (Janice) Cook of Xenia; mother of Flora; sisters, Millie Pittman of Woodstock; Mrs. John (Bertha) Yukas of Lake Bluff; Mrs. Ernest (Ann) Brown of Jakarta, Indonesia; Mrs. Fred (Martha) Ayers of Xenia; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.

One brother, four sisters, one son and one grandchild preceded her in death. Hayes Steven L. Hayes, 22, of Mount Vernon, formerly of Effingham, died Monday (Oct. 22, 1979) of injuries suffered in an auto accident north of LaClede. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at Bauer Funeral Home, Effingham.

Jones Roy A. Jones, 91, of Philo died 3:15 p.m. Monday (Oct. 22, 1979) in Champaign County Nursing Home, Ur-bana. Funeral services will be 11 a.m.

Thursday in Freese Funeral Home, To-lono, with visitation 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Locust Grove Cemetery, Philo. Mr. Jones was born in Salem, son of John and Rose Jones.

Longwill Mrs. Troy (Pearl M. Linton Balder-son) Longwill, 81, of 1360 N. Taylor Ave. died 6:09 a.m.

She was affiliated with the Summit Avenue Baptist Church. She married James Balderson in 1921. She later married Troy E. Longwill, who died in 1966. Surviving are son, Del Balderson of Decatur; daughter, Mrs.

Richard (Virginia) Thornton of Decatur; brothers, Clarke, Harold and Darrell Linton, all of Decatur; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. One brother and one sister preceded her in death. Pitzer Mrs. Errett S. (Essie M.

Williams) Pitzer, 87, of 228 N. Woodlawn Ave. died 11:30 a.m. Tuesday (Oct. 23, 1979) in Decatur Memorial Hospital.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday in Royal Palms Memorial Gar dens, West Palm Beach, Fla. No visitation. Local arrangements are by Dawson Wikoff Funeral Home. Mrs.

Pitzer was born in Cooksville, daughter of Harper and Lizzie Williams. She married Errett S. Pitzer in 1910. He died in 1973. Surviving are son, Dr.

Errington E. Pitzer of Decatur; daughter, Virda Har-wood of Hyattsville, four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren. One sister preceded her in death. Rokash Mary Eileen Walker Rokash, 50, of 4112 N. 22nd St.
