THURSDAY, JANUARY 12, 2012 DECATUR, ILLINOIS LOCAL D3 OBITUARIES MACON COUNTY Aydt DECATUR Alfred Frank Aydt, 81, of Dahlgren passed away 11:20 a a.m. Monday (Jan. 9, 2012) in Hamilton Memorial Nursing Home, McLeansboro. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Alfred Aydt St.

John the Baptist Catholic Church, Piopolis, with Father SlaARMY womir Ptak and Monsignor Joseph Lawler officiating. Visitation was Wednesday. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery, Piopolis, with military rites by American Legion Post 106, McLeansboro, and Military Honors Team, Marion. Harre Funeral Home, McLeansboro, is in charge of arrangments.

Memorials: St. Jude Children's Hospital. Alfred was born May 24, 1930, in Piopolis, the son of Charles Theodore and Katherine Christine Rubenacker Aydt. He was a laborer at A.E. Staley Mfg.

Decatur, and past partner of Aydt Hardware, McLeansboro. He was a member of the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Piopolis. He was a Korean War Army veteran. Surviving are his brothers, Leo J.

Aydt and wife Patsy, McLeansboro; Robert Lee Aydt and wife Mary Ann of Dahlgren; sister, Sister Agnes Therese Aydt, S.S.N.D., St. Louis, nephews, David Aydt and wife Shanna, Dahlgren; Mike Aydt and wife Kendra, Keenes; nieces, Shannon Brown and husband Mark, McLeansboro; Karen Maxim and husband Kevin, Swansea; Marsha Richards and husband Jeffery, Dahlgren; several greatnephews and great-nieces. Barbara was born June 21, 1932 in Decatur, the daughter of Donald Leroy and Bonnie Irene (Rhodes) Britton. She graduated from Decatur High School in 1950 and married Charles Roger Bailey at the Water Street Church of Christ in Decatur on May 5, 1956. He preceded her in death on October 31, 2011.

She was first employed at Chicago Motor Club, then was a homemaker, and later worked at Watkins Bibles and Bookstore after her daughters were grown. Barbara enjoyed camping with her family, trips to Arizona with Roger, Christian television and teachings, and flower gardening. She and Roger most recently attended Maranatha Assembly of God. Surviving are her daughters Susan Penny of Logan, OH, and Lisa "Leese" Lockmiller of Nashville, TN; grandson Christopher Bailey of Pompano Beach, FL who she helped raise; great granddaughter Onnalysa Bailey of Decatur, IL; and sister Shirley Fryer of Savoy, IL. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and husband Roger.

Jessie was an officer and member of Argenta Presbyterian Church. She was a farm wife and homemaker, 4- member, Charter member of Kiwanians, Charter member of Lady Land Owners, member of Home Extension for 50 years, and received the dren Chris (Julie) Hawk of Cerro Gordo, IL, Angie Hawk of Argenta, IL, Matt Hawk of Decatur, IL, Jon Hawk of Decatur, IL; great great grandchildren Ian Hawk and Grace Hawk, both of Cerro Gordo, IL; brother Gene (Gloria) Cottle of Decatur, IL; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Services to celebrate Ernie's life will be 10 a.m.

Saturday, January Ernest Durnil Jr. Durnil Fairlawn Funeral Home. USN Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday, NAVY January 13, 2012 at the funeral home. Interment with military honors will be in Graceland Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Baptist Church. Ernie was born March 5, 1919 in Villa Grove, the son of Ernest Sr. and Carrie (Albritton) Durnil. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during W.W.

II. Before enlisting in the Navy he was employed with A.E. Staley. Upon his return he worked with his in-laws Guy and Anna Bocock at the Uptown Then, he the Lakeside Dairy Bar with his wife, managed Sandy's Drive In, worked at PPG, and retired as maintenance supervisor with 1st National Bank. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church.

Ernie enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, fishing, and working in his yard. He was an Illini fan. He married the love of his life Mildred O. Bocock March 31, 1940. She preceded him in death March 14, 2004.

He leaves behind his son Larry and wife Linda of Decatur, daughter Julie Deal and husband Brad of Springfield, grandchildren Brian Durnil of FL, Jolene Lugar and husband Gary of MN, Kristen Deal of Springfield, and Bradley Deal Jr. of Springfield, and great-grandchildren Brittany Durnil of VA, Carly Durnil of FL, Brynn Lugar of MN, and Kelsey Lugar of MN. He was reunited in Heaven with his parents, wife, and brothers Dean and Dale. The family would like to thank those dear friends who faithfully visited those last years even though the dementia stole their memory from him, especially Larry Hartman, Mary Shelton, and Bill and Patty Gross. A sincere thank you is extended to the nurses and staff on the 5th floor of Aspen Ridge for their kind and patient care; it takes very special people to do what you do.

Vincent was born on August 15, 1960 in Decatur, IlliVincent nois to the Peppers union of Bishop Calvin Pep- pers and Marva Jo (Warren) Peppers. He was educated in the Decatur Public School System.

He attended Stephen Decatur High School and graduated from Lakeview High School. He also attended Richland Community College and worked as a professional welder. Vincent was a great sportsman, he played football, ran track, and was on the wrestling team. Vincent came to Christ at the age of 10 yrs old at Church of the Living God Temple He was the church bass guitar player, and piano player. Vincent had a great compassion for music.

Vincent was noted for his great bass guitar playing. He leaves to cherish his memories: his daughter, India Dennis of Decatur; parents: Bishop Calvin and Marva Jo Peppers of Decatur; aunts and uncles; Corrine Gipson of Moro, AK, Carrie Sain of Mariann, AK, Louise William of Flint, MI, Adlee Steele of Memphis, TN, Paralee Broadway of Moro, AK, Wiley Peppers of St. Louis, MO, Cecil Warren, Harold (Helen) Warren, Raymond (Cletia) Warren, Woodson Warren and Rosie Warren all of Columbia, MO. He is also survived by four other children, granddaughter, Demi Olatunji, and a host of cousins, special friends: Adrian Muex, Steven Fox and Mr. and Mrs.

Thomas Newbern. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Warren, paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.

and Mary Hansen Handley. She graduated from the Mansfield, Illinois High School in 1932 and attended Brown's Business College in Decatur. She married Paul G. Resler on Oct. 5, 1933 in Bement, Ill.

He died Jan. 4, 1988. Crystal was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Decatur. She enjoyed playing cards, knitting and crocheting. She was very supportive of her sons, especially during their school years.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, David D. and Selma A. Resler, Hoover, and their children, Lori and Brad Resler, Atlanta, son and daughter-in-law, Donald G. and Vicki M. Resler, Rock Island and their children (and spouses), Mike (Kim) Resler, Moline, Julie (Jeff) Kautz, Moline, Valerie (Joe) Atnip, Burnsville, Minn.

She preceded him in death on August 16, 2008 in Washington, IL. He was also preceded in death by his parents and 1 sister, Sharon Sebok. Brian graduated with a Bachelor's and Master's degree from Illinois State University, where he also played baseball for four years. He was a PE teacher and later the Dean of Students at Washington Community High School for over 25 years. He also was the WCHS head varsity baseball coach and the assistant varsity football coach. Brian later served as the Athletic Director at Springfield High School, retiring in 2002. He was currently serving on the WCHS Board of Education.

Brian had a passion for high school athletics and for the kids that participated in them. He designed the WCHS Panther logo that is currently used to symbolize "Panther Brian took great pride in caring for the athletic fields at WCHS, where he volunteered countless hours of time. He also served as the chairman of the United Way Fund in Washington and was the recipient of the Panther Pride Award and also the Washington Chamber of Commerce Washingtonian Award. Funeral services will be at 10 AM Saturday, January 14, 2012 at Deiters Funeral Home Crematory in Washington. Pastor Evan Williams will officiate.

Visitation will be from 5-7 PM Friday, January 13, 2012 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Glendale Cemetery in Washington. Memorials may be made to the Brian Wisher Memorial Fund at WCHS.
