Linda was born on October 19, 1948 in Christopher, IL, the beloved daughter of Gerald Irene I Mee Alexander. She had worked as a waitress at various restaurants and clubs in the Decatur area. Her engaging laugh and humorous wit drew people in and won her many friends and loved ones. She will be missed by all. Surviving are: her children; Rick Trimby of New Canton, OH, Frank Trimby of Clinton, IL and Tracy Trimby of Decatur, IL, her mother; Irene Alexander of Decatur and her grandchildren; Amber, Ricky, Frankie and Lindsey.

Currie Currie Estella (Piggie) Brown and later adopted DECATUR Savannah Currie, 80, of Decatur, passed from this life Wednesday, December 9, 2009 in Fair Havens Christian Home.

Ms. Currie was born July 11, 1929, in Waterloo, MS, the daughter of George and Savannah Currie by Richard and Pearl Perkins. A member of Northside Baptist Church, Ms. Currie worked in house keeping at McKinley Court Nursing Home for 30 plus years before retiring in 2007. She married George Currie in 1972 and he preceded her in death in 2002.

Also preceding her in death were her sons: Frank and Ricky; daughter, Pearline; granddaughters: Christina and Tierra; four brothers and three sisters. She leaves to cherish fond memories, her children: Sammy Woodard, Ed (Lisa) Perkins, and Robert Woodard of Oklahoma, Dorothy Walker, Charles Woodard, Lynn Rainer, and Tina (Steve) Shaw of Decatur, Thelma (Gerald) Johnson and Garland (Pam) Woodard of Houston, TX, and Gloria Woodard of Danville; sister, Ida Ford of Decatur; special brother-in-law, Nate Duckworth; special granddaughters: Tela Woodard and Temea Rainer and a host of other grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends Ma, you're gone but not forgotten. She graduated from Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She was a Registered Nurse. She worked as a R.N. at DMH before answering the call to serve as a nurse in Bermuda, where she met her husband who was serving in the USAF. She was a lifetime member of Prairie Avenue Christian Church, Gold Star Wife.

She married Clarence Arthur Williams December 15, 1957. He preceded her in death in October of 1963. She leaves behind her daughter; Connie Bublitz and husband Mitch of Harristown, granddaughters; Sarah Bublitz of Decatur, Abigale Bublitz and Kyle Bradford of Decatur, and Emile Bublitz of Harristown, brother; Darrel Weddle and wife Loretta of Pana, and sister; Joan Doll and husband John of Argenta. He was the second son of three boys. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy as a Boilerman, 3rd Class on the USS Marias in Portsmouth, Virginia from 1957-1961. He was a boilerman at Norfolk Southern for twenty-two years. He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed stock car racing in his earlier years with his brother Allen.

The two of them shared many memories, good and bad, at Macon Speedway for many years. Howard learned to enjoy the season and spirit of Christmas from his loving and devoted wife Carol. He married Carol Newlin February 22, 1984. He leaves behind his wife Carol of Decatur, Illinois, daughters; Lynnette (Fair) Bogard and James Clifton of Farmer City, Illinois, Amy (Fair) Binder of Greenville, South Carolina, Karla (Statzer) Swarms of Fairland, Illinois, Stacy (Statzer) Sheets and husband Bob of Decatur, Illinois, and Mindy (Statzer) Shafer and husband Rodger, Jr. of Decatur, Illinois, son; Howard Daniel Fair, II and wife Tammy of Tucson, Arizona, grandchildren; Adam Autumn, Taylor, and Elizabeth Bogard, Danielle Binder, Jacob, Eric, and Benjamin Fair, Aaron and Jaymon Swarms, and Max, Sydni, and Gage Shafer, brother; Allen Fair and wife Rosie of Decatur, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother; Bill Fair, -law; Carolyn Fair, and best friend; George Wakefield. Arrangements incomplete: Funeral Home. Swetman DECATUR Donna Parks Swetman, 71, of Alturas, died Nov. 20, 2009, in Redding, Calif. Donna was born March 14, 1938, the daughter of Oliver and Dorothy K. Parks.

She grew up in Decatur. Donna and husband, Bill, moved to Alturas for the quiet country life, enjoying traveling across the United States and Canada with their long-distance trucking business. She enjoyed spending time with her family and camping and fishing in her retirement. Surviving are her daughter, Jeannie Calverly; granddaughters, Heidi and Christy Calverly of Sebastopol, son, Al Lamp Jr. of Santa Rosa, Calif; grandsons, James and Jason; brothers, Jack Parks of Mesa, Cookie Parks of Nixa, Dale Parks of Mount Auburn; sisters, Patricia Roof and Sharon Holman, both of Kingman, Jacqueline West of Decatur.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sister, Melissa Drinkwine; brothers, Bunkie Parks, Kay Parks and Burl Parks; sisterin-law, Margie Parks Bugni. He had worked as a truck driver for Preston Trucking. He was a member of the Tennessee Five. He was a member of the Soy City Campers. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, golfing, bowling, and crafts. He was an avid Green Bay Packer Fan.

Surviving is his wife: DeEtta "Dee" of Decatur, daughters: Angela Minix Ross of Moweaqua and Sara Minix of Macon; grandchildren whom he adored: Teressa Ross of Moweaqua, Alexandria Sills of Macon, Kloei Leisure of Macon and Baby J. of Macon; brothers: Richard Minix of Arizona and Ronald Sutton and his wife Ida of Decatur; sister: Betty Harmon of Decatur; father and mother-in-laws: Orville "Jim" and Mary Brickey of Decatur; sister-in-laws: Pam Rogers of Indiana and Martha Petrowsky of Decatur. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother: Leo Minix and brother-in-law: David Petrowsky. The family wishes to extend special thanks to the doctors and staff of Cancer Care Specialists and to DMH Hospice for all their care and compassion during his illness.

He married Barbara Ann Nichols December 25, 1947 in Bethany. She preceded him in death on August 24, 1955. He married Kathleen Pope in 1957 and she preceded him in death.

He married Lou Ann Bradley November 13, 1993. Robert was a retired farmer and worked for Svendsen Florist in Decatur. He is a member of the Maranatha Assembly of God Church, Decatur. He is survived by his wife Lou Ann of Blue Mound; son, Michael (Mary) Shaffer of Decatur; daughter, Debbie (Jim) Brown of Valdez, AK; step-son, Doug (Julie) Pope of Decatur; -daughter, Karen (Robert) Albers of Decatur; 7 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, and three brothers.

DECATUR Paul Revere Emerson, 90 of Decatur, away at 3:55 a.m. FriDecember 11, 2009 at Heartland of Decatur with his family by his side. Per his wishes cremation rites will be accorded. Ser- Paul Emerson brate Paul's life will be held in the spring of 2010 at ARMY Funeral Home with the Flight Home Ceremony to conclude the service. Paul was born February 4, 1919 in Cambria, Illinois the son of Arthur and Florence (Winters) Emerson. He proudly served his country in the U.S.

Army. Sgt. Paul Emerson received the Good Conduct Medal while serving with the 372nd AAF Bomber Squadron in the South Pacific Theatre in W.W. II. He enlisted March 10, 1942 and was honorably discharged October 26, 1945.

He earned a teaching degree from Southern Illinois University and a masters degree 1 from the University of Illinois on August 16, 1954. Paul taught school in Mt. Vernon, Edinburgh, Argenta-Oreana, and Decatur public schools, Centennial and Johns Hill. For nearly twenty six years Paul crop adjusted during summer vacations. He was a member of the Golden Kiwanis Club in Decatur, proud to be a Master Mason Emerson for fifty-six years with Stephen Decatur and was affiliated for many years with Prairie Avenue Christian Church and most recently with Mound Road Christian Church.

He volunteered for fourteen years at Decatur Memorial Hospital. Paul loved square dancing with his wife and their friends in the Decatur Promenaders. He married Belleville, Illinois resident Lenora Carr on May 4, 1946 in Geneva, Illinois. She preceded him in death December 5, 2004. He leaves behind nephews; Bruce Wright of California and Dean Hardcastle of Arizona, nieces; Jane Emerson of Arizona, Elizabeth Hardcastle of Decatur, Dianna Carr Bevil and Amelia Carr of Colorado, six great-nephews, two greatnieces, and first cousin Bill Emerson of Florida.

So many caregivers gave their hearts and loving efforts on Paul's behalf. We so appreciated Dawn and Londra for their fine nursing skills and friendships, Rose for being a wonderfully attentive CNA and loving caregiver, Sally for always keeping I Paul's mind active and creative, and Pastor Sam Baum for tending Paul's spiritual needs. We are most grateful for the fine staff at Manor Nursing Facility and Dr. Kahn for his knowledge and kind considerations. Thanks to Barb and the Audible staff.

Paul was the consummate spoke with great authority and clarity. He loved singing the old hymns with the church choirs and his faith never faltered.
