7-diomond En- Voters League Groups Meet three groups of the newly organized Macon county chapter of the Illinois League of Women Voters will discuss the MacMahon bill for control of atomic energy, at forthcoming meetings. Any member may attend any meeting. One group meets in the morning, another in the afternoon, and a third in the evening, to suit the convenience of ail. Any woman interested in nonpartisan instruction on civic and national questions may join by sending her dues. S3, to Mrs.

135 Linden Place, with Mrs. Lawrence K. Knuth leading discission. Miss Blossom Redmon. the League's president, will go to Kansas on April 30 for the national convention, and to Winnetka on May 23 for the state convention.

The League, just organized in this country, has met with instant response from Macon women. Inquiries about membership come in daily, and membership is open to ny woman who wants to join. Bernard's parish in New Orleans, La. Seaman Johnson has been in the navy four years and has served in Europe, Afr-rica and Asiatic Pacific theaters. He is now at Orange, Texas. The bride, in the J. C.

Prairie Ave. Phone 2-26S7 Francis Rogier Joins Clynbourne Opera in London Francis Rogier, graduate of Millikin Conservatory of Music, who has been in service for four years, is on his way home from England for discharge, and will visit for awhile with his parents, Mr.

Then he will return to London where he has a contract with the Glynbourne Opera company, to take part in a new opera by Benjamin Britton. It will be given this summer in England, and possibly will be taken to the continent later. Britton is a young English composer whose earlier opera, "Peter Grimes." met instant favor. Excerpts and solos from it are heard frequently on U. S.

radio programs. Glynbourne is famous for its Mozart Festivals and many famous singers have been heard there. Mr. Rogier was a voice pupil of the late Grant Hadley at Millikin, and later studied two years at Juil-liard Graduate school in New York. He was with Chautauqua Opera in the sumer of 1942, and entered service that fall.

He had a contract for that winter with Columbia Concerts Assn. to take one of the parts in Major E. Hastings Kenney, son of Mrs. Vernice M. Kenney, 335 West Main, and Daniel J.

Kenney of Chicago, was married last Nov. 27 in Dominican Catholic church in Stone, Staffordshire, England. to Edith M. Abberton. He returned Jan.

20 and has just completed his terminal leave, and his bride arrived in New York on Friday and is expected in Decatur to day or Monday. Major Kenney, nephew of Miss S. E. Kenney, former Macon county abstractor, was overseas 25 months with a medical unit of General Pat-ton's 3d army, and wears four battle stars. His bride was a member of the criminal investigation division of the Staffordshire police, and served in the Women's Auxiliary Police Force.

Attendants were Miss Mon-ette Cox of I.amesa, and H. O. Here of El Paso. A reception followed in the Cortez hotel. The bride is a graduate of West Suburban hospital school of nursing in Oak Park, and joined the Army Nurses Corps in 1945.

She has been st the Beaumont hospital for a year. Mr. Christy was released from the army recently and is employed in El Paso, where they will live. and that's good luck for YOU!
