DECATUR SUNDAY HERALD AND REVIEW Decatur, Illinois, Sunday, February 1, 1959. Financially speaking, the office of the chief adult probation officer of Macon County had a rough year. The general economic decline caused a decrease in the amount paid in 1958 for the support of dependent children who are wards of the Macon County Court. Russell A. Hoendorf, chief adult probation officer, said the number of dependent children increased in 1958, but financial support to them declined by almost $7,000.

In 1958 the money collected from the parents was $16,942 compared with $23,316 in 1957. In 1956 the money collected was $21,279. The financial figures are contained in the annual report of Hoendorf's office. It was submitted to the judges of the Circuit and County Courts. Hoendorf attributed the pay: ment decline to the inability of parents to pay because of the economic conditions during 1958.

Haendorf's office showed general receipts of $8.217. and disbursements of $7,882. The reshow a decline of about $800-from 1957 because. restin: tion payments declined sortie $1, and court costs and fines, inereased. Hoendorf said" persons.
