The eighty-ninth anniversary of tho founding of the Cumberland Presbyterian chureb, acd tbe eighteenth birthday of tbe Endeavor Society were celebrated sinaul-tanteoualy at tbe Cumberland FreeDyter-ian cburuh on West Eldorado street Sunday night. Tbe commemorative exerciieB were tbe aaspices cf the Endeavor society and Charles Stinebaugb, tbe president cf the organization, a3 in charge of tbe arrangements for tbe event. A programme which was arranged by tbe chureb board for tbe doubie anniversary was rendered Sunday night, and tbe officers of tbe Endeavor socibty performed tbe principal pott of the nork.

All of tbe officers and chairman of the society read reports of work done during the year. Tbe report of the social committee was given by 9teve Dellirgar, tbe prayer meeting by Miss Nellie Record, the lookout by Charles Record, tbe missionary by Miss Clara Vaughn, music by Miss Nellie File, the flower by Misa Mabel Logan, the Sunday school by Miss Myrtle Ethridge, and the report of tbe treasurer was read by Will B. Hawkins. The programme was libertlly interspersed with music by the large choniB choir. A string orchestra rendered instrumental Tbe united societies of the Cumberland Presbyterian church decided two years ago to build a church year after that time.

Last year a fine cburob was built and paid for at Poitland, Oregon, and this year one is to be built at Columbus, Ohio. Tbe lot for the new church in Columbus bas already been purchased and work on the church will bigin early in the spring. Rev. Watson, formerly pastor of tbe church at Sullivan, will be given tbe new charge at ColumbuB. A collection was taken after the anniversary services in the local chureb Suuday night.
