Former Soldier Recalls Three Graves of Americans in Widely-Separated Parts of the World "The other graves? Well, I wandered and talked a lot of stuff that thought I might be able to understand him, but it was an unintelligible mumble. I could not understand much they said to me.

I got an officer who could speak French and took him to the hospital where the poor fellow had died. The officer said that he would get the man's tag number and with that to start would learn whence he bad come and write to his relatives at the first opportunity, telling them where the young man had died. Often I have wondered if he did that. It might be that the officer who had agreed to do that was killed and never had opportunity to write. Today I have been thinking about the graves of those three men who died so far from things that have been accomplished" I did not think about when I men tioned the soldiers' graves.

At present, the following student pilots are in training here: J. E. Snedaker, Arthur Ibsen, Harold Carter, Carl Lasser, John Lundberg and William Taft. Aviation is a luxury today it will be a necessity tomorrow.

Its expense is now its only drawback. To fly an ordinary biplane costs 11 cents a mile or more. But it is a growing necessity now, as attested by the establishments of such airports, and the organization of air routes, over which passenger and express carrying planes are flown on regular schedule. Branch Out Activities The first organized and most largely capitalized of these, the National Air Transport, has a mail contract, and is carrying express as well as mail on regular schedule between Chicago and Dallas. This company also hopes to bid in the government transcontinental mail-line service when it is let out by contract and the post office department retires from aircraft operation, as Postmaster-General New plans to do as soon as feasible, and to shift the main line from the present route to one leading southwest from Chicago to Kansas City, Dallas, San Antonio, El Paso and Los Angeles.

"Maybe you remember reading about a young scientist named Jones, in aviation since then: In 1925.

Lieut. A. J. Williams of the TJ. S.

The combination of his official position, given as a joke, and the gin swelled Abican until he could not resist the impulse to assert his authority. He hiked to the wilds to get some heads. Maybe he did not like the other fellows very well anyhow.

"Some time after that I went to the crossing and could not rouse Abican. Firing my revolver in the air was usually most effective but Abican did not appear.
