DEWITT HOME BUREAU Annual 4-H Rally in Clinton School on Tuesday Clinton, March 17 (Staff) Plans for the annual 4-H spring rally have been announced by Mrs. Helen Simer of the Dewitt County Home Bureau. It is to be held in the gymnasium of Clinton Community high school Tuesday at 7:30 p. m. Federation members will have charge of recreation after having special training in the subject by Dick Lawson of the University of Illinois.

Highlight of the program will be talks by former 4-H members, one by a speaker who grew up in 4-H work and is now a Farm Bureau co-operator, and, one from a woman who had her preliminary training for homemaking in 4-H economic clubs and is now a home bureau cooperator. Oak Grove P.T. A. Elects Mrs. Wayne Dickerson Oak Grove Parents- Teachers association elected Mrs.

Wayne Dickerson as new president and saw a movie "Preface to Life" Friday afternoon. Other new officers included Mrs. O. F. Burkhalter, vice president; Mrs.

Lawrence Waggoner, secretary; and Mrs. Don Smith, treasurer. Special guests at the meeting were Mrs. H. A.

Lichtenberger, director of district 9, and Mrs. Leroy Smith, City Council president. It was announced that the Oak Grove P. T. A.

year book received the only superior exhibit award in district 9 and that a Brownie and Girl Scout troop will be sponsored by the group. The April meeting will be a family night potluck dinner. E. S. Mitchell of Petersburg, president of the New Salem Lincoln league which sponsors the drama about Lincoln, said that dramatic departments of some 30 colleges and universities throughout the state have been invited to send actors and actresses William Macllwinen, director of the play, will supervise the tryouts, Mitchell said. The drama is the story of the six years during the 1830's that Lincoln lived at the frontier village of New Salem.

More than 50 characters are cast in the production. Several cast members from last season will return in the same roles including Harlington Wood of Springfield, who portrayed Lincoln, Mitchell said. Author Kermit Hunter recently reported to the League that he is making several significant changes in the script for the 1952 season. The play i is presented in a natural amphitheater at the park, 20 miles of Springfield. Dates of the production this summer are June 28 through August 24, nightly except Mondays.
