So wrote our founding fathers as they composed the Mayflower Compact before landing at Plymouth. Thus the Pilgrims began in faith, and it strengthened them to endure cold, starvation and disease. Fifty of the .100 colonists died the first winter.

Yet, when the Mayflower sailed for England, no one elected to return. They worked hard and reaped a bountiful harvest. they rejoiced in thanksgiving, sharing their with the Indians, in days of feasting and sport. Other colonies began to celebrate the "day and in 1789 George! Washington, officially proclaimed the holiday as one of public thanksgiving and proyer. The Rev.

Davis. ---Davis is director of the Macon County Youth, for Christ organi zation which is sponsoring the movie's Decatur showing. The movie takes a' bold look at the problems confronting today's young people and clearly defines the answer to be found in the Christian faith, Davis said.

Two other brothers were taken to a hospital in Quincy.

-Michael Balfour, 16, and David, 6, perished in the blaze. Robert, 13, died in the hospital five hours -was in serious condition and Richard, was listed in good condition, The parents, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Balfour, were not at home when the fire broke out. Firemen attributed the blaze which destroyed the 1V5 -story frame home to an', overheated flue in a kitchen stove.

Pana Tavern Loses License Springfield, Nov. 21 (Special) The Illinois Liquor Control Commission Friday announced it has revoked the license of the Mill lop iavern in rana, citing Orville E. Bolding for serving liquor to five minors. The Christian County Liquor Commission revoked the tavern's license Nov. 4.

Richard Funk, Decatur police juvenile officer, gave a re port on die city's Chaplain-of-the- Month program this week as part of a panel discussion at an insti tute on juvenile Jaw eniorcement held at Libertvville.

The institute, which met Tues day and Wednesday, was spon sored by the University of Illinois police institute and the Illinois Youth Commission. Funk said variations of Uhaplain-ot-the-Month ogram, which. jsdesigned to prevent sec ond" offenses by juvenile now in effect in several Illinois cities. He said his report on the suc cess' of the 'Decatur program was well received and created much in terest among the 114 juvenile of ficers and police chiefs who at tended the institute. Funk said the chief value of the institute to him the op- pprtunity gave him to review juvenile- law outside' the pressure or his normal activities.

The panel in which he took part was on-, the prevention oi juvenile crime and included talks by four other officials under a moderator, Police Lt. S. Harold Roberts of Alton. Other Darticioants and the programs they explained were: Lt. Madeline.
