The farm is in Shelby County, 12 miles southeast of Pana. Some 250 gallons a day are received and put in stainless steel refrigerated tanks. From the tanks, the milk is pasteurized, standardized cream is separated homogenized and cooled to 36 degrees. Then it is packaged in containers from half-pints to gallons.

Valley Lea is Equity's brand name. A farmer-owned cooperative, the creamery employs 20 persons. met. Lab checks are made by state health officials on both raw and finished product Before milking time the room must be made spotlessly clean. Milking machines are assembled and sterilized as are the pipeline and cans all with chlorinated water.
